How to choose:

If the gasket never touches food or the human body, industrial grade is the smart buy — you get the same sealing performance without paying for tests you do not need. If it touches food, you need food grade. If it touches the body, medicine, or body fluids, only medical grade is acceptable.

Common Applications

Industrial grade silicone gaskets are the everyday workhorse of sealing. Typical uses include:

Machinery covers and access panels

dust, splash, and vibration sealing on machine housings

Electronics housings and electrical enclosures

junction boxes, control panels, LED lighting, outdoor communication cabinets

HVAC equipment

duct flanges, air handling units, filter covers, dampers, and access doors

Automotive non-fuel systems

lighting assemblies, HVAC units, battery enclosures, and cabin equipment (for fuel and oil contact, use fluorosilicone instead)

Industrial valves and pumps

general service with air, water, and mild chemicals

General equipment assembly

anywhere a flexible, heat-stable, weather-proof seal is needed at a fair cost

Not sure if your application can use industrial grade? Tell us what the gasket touches — air, water, food, oil, or something else — and we will confirm the right grade for free.

What Is Industrial Grade Silicone?

Industrial grade silicone is the general-purpose member of the silicone rubber family. It is made for everyday engineering and manufacturing jobs — sealing, insulating, cushioning, and protecting — where the part does not touch food or the human body. It shares the same silicon-oxygen polymer backbone that gives all silicones their famous stability, but its formula is optimized for mechanical performance and cost efficiency rather than for regulatory certification. In simple terms: it is the practical, no-nonsense silicone that industry runs on.

Key Properties of Industrial Grade Silicone
  • Wide Temperature Range — Works reliably from -60°C to +200°C, far beyond EPDM, NBR, or natural rubber.
  • Excellent Weather Resistance — UV, ozone, rain, and outdoor aging barely affect it. It stays flexible for years where other rubbers crack.
  • Good Electrical Insulation — A natural dielectric material, trusted for electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Lasting Flexibility — Keeps its elasticity through thousands of compression cycles and wide temperature swings.
  • Stable Against Common Media — Handles air, water, weak acids and alkalis, and many cleaning chemicals without swelling or breaking down.
  • Durable and Tear Resistant — Formulated for mechanical strength, it stands up to clamping force, vibration, and daily wear.
  • Cost Effective — No special certification costs are built into the price, making it the most economical way to get genuine silicone performance.
